Join the History Trust of South Australia and the South Australian Museum for a day of professional learning on Friday 20 March.
Beyond Object-based Learning will explore how to use museum spaces to prompt learning and visual thinking strategies, demonstrate object-based learning resources to use in the classroom, and look at digital approaches to object-based learning. Teachers will also have time to interact with loanable museum kits and learn how they can use them in their classrooms.
Tickets include an exclusive private curator-led tour of the Egyptian gallery, as well as lunch.

The South Australian Museum and the History Trust of South Australia (the organisers) aim to provide a safe and inclusive environment for all visitors, staff, volunteers, and contractors. Staff, volunteers, or contractors working on behalf of the organisers, reserve the right to refuse entry and/or to evict, without compensation, any person(s) who exhibit abusive, disruptive, or offensive behaviour and/or language.
• All persons entering a ticketed event must present a valid printed or electronic ticket.
• All admission tickets are valid only for the date, time and event stated on the ticket.
• All ticket prices are displayed in AUD and inclusive of GST
• A booking is not confirmed without the full receipt of payment.
• Unless otherwise specified, tickets are valid for one entry only to the event including any entry into exhibitions.
• Museum or History Trust membership discounts do not apply to educator events.
• To be eligible for discounted tickets, pre-service teachers must be enrolled in an education degree at an Australian University. The organisers reserve the right to request proof of enrolment at an eligible site. The Museum can cancel a ticket if the ticket holder is ineligible for the discount. Where possible the ticket holder will be offered the opportunity to re-book with the correct ticket.
• Event tickets cannot be used for any advertising, promotion, competition, or other commercial purposes without the authorisation of the organisers.
• Photographs may be taken at this event and used online for marketing purposes. If you do not wish to have you photo taken, please alert staff on the day of the event.
Refunds & exchanges
Tickets purchased online will be refunded, less booking fees, to the buyer if requested before 16th March 2026.
Any refund payable will be made to the original purchaser via the original payment method.
Tickets are not refundable after 16th March 2026.
Tickets are not refundable in the event a ticket holder does not enjoy the event.
Requests to swap tickets for an alternate session of the same event can be made to learn@history.sa.gov.au. Every effort will made to meet the request. Tickets that have been swapped to new session times are not eligible for refunds.
The organisers are not responsible for any ancillary expenses incurred by the ticket holder if the event is cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances.
The organisers reserve the right to cancel any ticket and refund the ticket amount, less booking fees, where there has been an error.
